Answering Machine Posted by: ErikW Posted on : 8/17/2011 1:37:43 PM Can anybody recommend a brand/model that allows multiple mailboxes and a long greeting (2+minutes). Also want to have the machine where it is information only and has a setting that won't allow callers to leave a msg.
Thanks,
Erik |

Ring Central Posted by: RSB Posted on : 8/17/2011 1:53:54 PM I think a lot of people use Ring Central so look into that to see if it will meet your needs. I think they are pretty cheap. |

Re:Answering Machine Posted by: WilliamGA Still Master of ALL I Survey Posted on : 8/18/2011 9:43:57 PM Erik,
There are so many more choices available to us now than there were just a couple of years ago. I now use all online services to handle telephone, fax and answering services.
My recommendation? Ring Central. I have a link to it on the links page here:

There you will also find links to all the other services I use and recommend.
I did use the Casio and it was an awesome product and lasted for several years but they no longer make that model.

Worth a try if you really wanted to go this route I guess.

Google Voice? Posted by: RSB Posted on : 8/22/2011 9:26:21 PM I heard someone talk about Google Voice the other day. I guess they give you a free phone number and it has some cool features. You can forward your calls from that number to any phone and it will also produce a printed version of any voice mail and send it to you as a text or as a email.
Anybody use this and what do you think of it? |

Re:Google Voice? Posted by: WilliamGA Still Master of ALL I Survey Posted on : 8/22/2011 9:43:48 PM Hey Rick,
Google Voice is awesome.
Yes, you can choose your number and forward it anywhere. In addition, they send you an email with any voice message transcripted for you so you can simple read it anytime.
The transcripts can be kind of sketchy, though.
But to use for the purposes we are discussing here, no, I am afraid it will not work like we want it to.

Re:Google Voice? Posted by: Ned Carey Posted on : 8/29/2011 11:16:22 PM I just started using Google voice also. I addition to what William said, they can text you a transcript. You can also make a note about the call. so if you call back, you can make yourself a note about what was said.
Access is on line. You can see or hear you messages. I haven't even learned all the features yet. Ned Carey
